Welcome Tiny’s

Daycare for 9–18 Month Olds in Newark, Delaware

NDNCC provides nurturing full-time care for children ages 9 to 18 months old.

As children transition from infancy to toddlerhood, they begin developing new levels of mobility, communication, curiosity, and independence. Our teachers create a safe and supportive environment where children are encouraged to explore their surroundings, build relationships, and grow confidence through hands-on learning and guided play.

Big milestones start with little moments, and the Tiny’s classroom is filled with exciting opportunities for growth, exploration, and discovery

Our trained teachers understand the importance of these early developmental milestones and work together to support each child’s individual pace of growth. Throughout the day, children in the Tiny’s classrooms engage in activities that strengthen movement, language, problem-solving, sensory exploration, and early independence. Every moment is designed to support joyful learning and development.

Your Tiny will enjoy a classroom that offers:

Motor Skill Development

Building confidence and coordination through crawling, pulling up, standing, cruising along furniture, and taking early steps with gentle support from teachers and their environment.

Growing Communication Skills

Strengthening speech and language development through babbling, responding to their name, pointing to familiar objects, following directions, and call-and-response interactions.

Curious Minds at Work

Encouraging early problem-solving skills and critical thinking through hands-on, exploratory play with cause-and-effect toys, stacking, and searching for hidden objects during games like peek-a-boo.

Growing Independence

Helping children build confidence through self-feeding with hands and utensils, practicing drinking from cups and bottles independently, and learning to do more on their own each day.

Daily Updates

We complete individual daily sheets that communicate to families about their child’s health, nutrition for the day, sleeping habits, diaper changes, feelings, and learning experiences of the day. We utilize the Teaching Strategies Gold assessment tool to help our staff and parents/guardians monitor the children’s development together, and offer conferences to discuss these developmental assessments.

Teaching Strategies GOLD (TSG) and Ages and Stages (ASQ) Developmental Monitoring

Communication between families and teachers is key to your child’s experience at our center and adds to your level of comfort and satisfaction. NDNCC understands the importance of providing our families with information on their children’s progress and development. Outcome and assessment data, generated from our assessments, allow staff the opportunity to continually review and enrich our curriculum and better meet each child’s developmental and individual needs. These practices represent our commitment to continuous program improvement. We use Teaching Strategies GOLD (TSG) to monitor outcomes and Ages and Stages (ASQ) as a developmental screener.

TSG is an objective-based system designed for teachers to assess children in all areas of development and learning. Classroom activities and lesson plans are created to support school readiness in the areas of literacy and mathematics. Assessment results will be shared during bi-annual parent/ guardian – teacher conferences and by request.
